The size is perfect for the 8740, but the front of the cover falls down on the touch screen and activates it. It would never sleep and save energy if Ieft the cover on. The corners on the picture have been pulled up. They eventually droop and as I said, static or just the plastic is enough to activate the screen and hit a feature. I may put some foam board in the top with some foam and so it is turgid and falls around the printer. Just my 2 cents.
